Baseball Recap: Samuel Fels' Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Samuel Fels came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Masterman, falling 28-7. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Saul Rodriguez-Perez and Dean Paulino stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rodriguez-Perez scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Paulino went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Paulino is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Ryan Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Samuel Fels' loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Masterman, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

After both having extra time off, Samuel Fels and Frankford will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:15 p.m. on the 22nd. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Masterman, they will challenge MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Masterman's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Voyagers have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
