Hozho Academy is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Rehoboth Christian is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolves will host the Lynx at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hozho Academy came out on top against Jemez Valley last Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Wolves blew past the Warrior 12-2. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Warrior recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cody Dooley and Philip Elkins made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Dooley tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Elkins tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Dooley went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Elkins went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Epraim Otero was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Rehoboth Christian rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Rattlers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory.
Not much got past Jonathan Zylstra, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Tucumcari off the board. Zylstra also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rehoboth Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-11 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trajen West, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Rehoboth Christian is undefeated when West posts one or more home runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Kodah Chapman was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Rehoboth Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Hozho Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hozho Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Rehoboth Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hozho Academy skirted past Rehoboth Christian 4-3 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Lynx have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
