Epping hasn't had much luck against Portsmouth Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Epping is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
On Friday, Epping needed a bit of extra time to put away Newmarket. They skirted past the Mules 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since May 12, 2025.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Portsmouth Christian Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Farmington last Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 21-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
McKayla Spurr and Lexi Jordan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Spurr tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jordan didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Spurr went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Jordan went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most RBI Spurr has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Eliza Arwood was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Anderson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Portsmouth Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Epping's record now sits at 7-1. As for Portsmouth Christian Academy, their record is now 5-2.
