The Elkhart Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Turpin Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Elkhart unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Stanton County.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bella Brillhart, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Madyson Brillhart was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Elkhart were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton County only posted six assists.
Meanwhile, Turpin came up short against the Wildcats on Monday and fell 46-39. While losing is never fun, Turpin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Wildcats are ranked 95th).
Elkhart dropped their record down to 8-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Turpin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Elkhart was taken down by the Cardinals 71-44 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Elkhart have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
