The St. Martin Yellow Jackets lost against the Ocean Springs Greyhounds back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. St. Martin fell  45-33 to Ocean Springs. While losing is never fun, St. Martin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings  (they are ranked 222nd, while Ocean Springs is ranked 37th).
 St. Martin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ty'Lah Whitlock, who  scored four points along with 12  rebounds and three  steals.  Tony Mora was another key contributor,  scoring 15 points.
 St. Martin  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only three  offensive rebounds. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 St. Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Ocean Springs,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 14-4.
 St. Martin will head out on the road to  face off against  Biloxi at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Ocean Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gulfport at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Gulfport is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
