The Torres Toros extended their postseason success on Friday against the Shafter Generals. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over the Generals. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Shafter still got an impressive performance from Christopher Espinoza, who rushed for 188 yards while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Jesus Vasquez also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Torres pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Shafter, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-1.
Torres is on the road again on Friday and play against Dos Palos at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Dos Palos will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. Shafter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
