On Friday, Smith County beat St. Bernard's 46-36.
Despite the loss, St. Bernard's still got an impressive performance from Laila Florvilus, who scored 20 points. Florvilus scored a full 55.6% of St. Bernard's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Shanahan, who scored nine points.
Smith County now has a winning record of 6-5. As for St. Bernard's, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Smith County will be playing in front of their home fans against Monterey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Monterey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Thursday. St. Bernard's won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Edna Karr at 1:30 p.m. on December 30th.
