The Calumet Christian Patriots will be home for the holidays to greet the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Calumet Christian and six for Lighthouse College Prep Academy dating back to last season.
Calumet Christian struggled with assists on Tuesday (HomeSchool Resource Center had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Calumet Christian took a serious blow against HomeSchool Resource Center, falling 69-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calumet Christian has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Calumet Christian had strong showings from Brad Nymeyer, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Kolton Foutz, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Michael Clayton, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse College Prep Academy suffered a tough 67-41 loss at the hands of Hammond Central on Tuesday. Lighthouse College Prep Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.
Calumet Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Calumet Christian barely slipped by Lighthouse College Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in January, winning 61-60. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lighthouse College Prep Academy's Bryan Ware, who scored 22 points along with four steals.
