The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates will square off against the Parkland Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lubbock-Cooper's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Last Friday, Lubbock-Cooper never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over Caprock at home. Lubbock-Cooper pushed the score to 43-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Caprock had no chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Parkland can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 44-13 win over Horizon. With Parkland ahead 37-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Lubbock-Cooper's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Caprock, Monterey, and Amarillo. As for Parkland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Lubbock-Cooper against Parkland when the teams last played back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 51-14 win. Does Lubbock-Cooper have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parkland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
