The Point Loma Pointers won against the Crawford Colts last Friday with 73 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Point Loma took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 73-44 win over Crawford. The win was familiar territory for Point Loma who now have six in a row.
Point Loma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Stewart, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. Stewart has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Crawford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tremell Jackson, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Espalin, who scored 14 points.
Point Loma has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Crawford, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Loma will take on Canyon Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon Hills is on a three-game streak of home wins, Point Loma a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Crawford, they will head out on the road to take on Sweetwater at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
