Air Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 74-39 victory over the Discovery Canyon Thunder. Given the Kadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Thunder are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Air Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lydia Flowers, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Flowers continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatyonna Brown, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards.

Air Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Discovery Canyon only racked up five assists.

Despite the defeat, Discovery Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dillan McComb went 6 for 13 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Air Academy pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Discovery Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Air Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cheyenne Mountain at 5:30 p.m. Air Academy is facing Cheyenne Mountain at the right time seeing as Cheyenne Mountain is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Discovery Canyon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-26 victory against Mesa Ridge on the 8th.
