The Civic Memorial Eagles will take on the Belleville West Maroons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Civic Memorial's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Highland as they made off with a 9-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Megan Griffith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Bella Thien was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Allison Friedel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Civic Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belleville West). They blew past Collinsville 18-0 on Thursday. The Maroons haven't had any issues with the Kahoks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kara Kramer looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Daijah Jackson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Makenna Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Civic Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Belleville West, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Civic Memorial took their win against Belleville West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maroons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
