McArthur is 1-6 against Flanagan since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mustangs will host the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Flanagan will be up against a hot McArthur team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Mustangs' way against Deerfield Beach on Monday as they made off with a 22-3 victory. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Aleyda Zamore made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Zamore was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Davilegni Turner was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI and one run. Alexa Arias was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
McArthur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .694 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while Flanagan put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Miramar. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Patriots. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won eight in a row.
Like McArthur, Flanagan also got a great game from a two-way player: Adrianna Mose. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Mose was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Amy Chacko was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jade Reves, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
McArthur's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Flanagan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Flanagan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: McArthur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .600. It's a different story for Flanagan, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain McArthur's hitters?
McArthur skirted past Flanagan 9-7 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
