Hendersonville is 1-9 against the Buccaneers since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hendersonville Commandos will be playing at home against the Beech Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hendersonville comes in on four and the Buccaneers on six.
Last Friday, Hendersonville was able to grind out a solid victory over the Golden Bears, taking the game 48-39. Given Hendersonville's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Beech didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Hawks on Friday, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory.
Beech had a senior duo take command as Genesis Harris scored 11 points along with three steals and Carson Sisk scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Sisk hasn't dropped below two steals for 20 straight games. Another player making a difference was Dani James, who scored nine points.
Hendersonville's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Beech, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Hendersonville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to the Buccaneers in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Hendersonville, Riley Long (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
