Cuthbertson is 8-2 against Weddington since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cuthbertson Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Weddington Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Cuthbertson is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
On Tuesday, Cuthbertson came up short against Providence and fell 41-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cuthbertson has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Weddington unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were beaten by Porter Ridge 71-44. Weddington has not had much luck with Porter Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Weddington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caroline Clark, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Mia Brosterhous who scored six points along with five rebounds. Clark has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bergman, who scored eight points.
Cuthbertson has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Weddington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.
Cuthbertson came out on top in a nail-biter against Weddington in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 45-42. Does Cuthbertson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weddington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
