The Macon County Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wilcox County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Macon County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Macon County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumter County. Macon County has not had much luck with Sumter County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Macon County saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Cochran dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Cochran is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 20 or more in the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Wilcox County put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Telfair County 57-33. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.
Macon County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Wilcox County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.
