The Rockledge Raiders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cocoa Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Rockledge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Cocoa is ranked fourth).
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Rockledge had to settle for a 20-17 loss against Eau Gallie.
Meanwhile, Cocoa entered their tilt with Palm Bay with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Cocoa took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 win over Palm Bay. The result was nothing new for Cocoa, who have now won six matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Cocoa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Latrison Lane led the charge by rushing for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Lane hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hart, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns.
Rockledge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Cocoa, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Rockledge came up short against Cocoa in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 28-20. Will Rockledge have more luck at home instead of on the road?
