Basketball Recap: Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Skates Past Temple Christian with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Liberty, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Temple Christian Crusaders 54-19. The Ospreys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy to victory were Mallorie Waldron and Adah Tuckwiller. Waldron went 6 of 7 en route to 13 points, while Tuckwiller went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points and three steals. That's the most points Waldron has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan White, who posted four points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Temple Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will square off against Roanoke Valley Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Temple Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Blue Ridge Christian's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so Temple Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
