Mattoon won the last time they faced Charleston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Greenwave walked away with a 2-0 win over the Trojans.

While Mattoon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22.

Mattoon can attribute much of their success to Brooke Jobe, who had seven digs and four aces.

Jobe wasn't the only good servers: Mattoon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The Greenwave are 4-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Mattoon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Charleston, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.

Mattoon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Mahomet-Seymour on the 2nd. As for Charleston, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Mt. Zion on the 2nd.
