McLean has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Langley Saxons at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. McLean will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Saxons are ranked 20th).
Last Tuesday, McLean strolled past the Statesmen with points to spare, taking the game 42-27.
Meanwhile, Langley waltzed into their game on Wednesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They came out on top against Washington-Liberty by a score of 48-37.
Langley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bri Borcherding, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Vicky Zawisza was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
McLean's record is now 9-7. As for Langley, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1.
McLean ended up a good deal behind the Saxons in their previous meeting back in January, losing 42-26. Can McLean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
