Durango was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They lost  21-12 to the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  22-7  back in March.
 Alexia Carey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and 19 unearned) runs on eight hits.
 On the hitting side,  Peyton McCullough and  Leiah Biscocho stepped up to the plate in a big way.  McCullough  scored a  run while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances, while  Biscocho  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. McCullough also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Aaliyah Oderilong-Louch, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
Durango's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cimarron-Memorial, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.
