The W.S. Neal Eagles will face off against the Satsuma Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (W.S. Neal: 3, Satsuma: 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Friday, W.S. Neal narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Paxton 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Blake Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Cain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. John Wesley Pettis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Satsuma put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Clarke County as Satsuma made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Gators have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Nick Santes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Santes was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Brady Coleman was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Charlie Brinkman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Satsuma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Satsuma pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for W.S. Neal, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. W.S. Neal has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Satsuma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
W.S. Neal came up short against Satsuma in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 11-6. Will W.S. Neal have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
