If the Alice Coyotes were riding high off their 80-50 takedown of the Harmony School of Excellence Hawks last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Alice fell 65-58 to Tuloso-Midway on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Alice saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Rivera scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Asevedo, who scored 12 points.
Alice's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Tuloso-Midway, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Calallen the next time they take the court. Alice will head out to face Calallen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tuloso-Midway will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
