Basketball Recap: Derrick Roberson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chattanooga Prep over Baylor

On Friday, the Chattanooga Prep Sentinels were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-57 to the Baylor Red Raiders.

Chattanooga Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrick Roberson, who went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Collins, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Chattanooga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Baylor, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Chattanooga Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-48 victory against Sale Creek on the 27th. As for Baylor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-65 defeat against Houston on the 25th.
