Ludlow is 0-8 against Dixie Heights since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will welcome the Colonels at 5:30 p.m. Ludlow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Ludlow made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bellevue, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Tigers on Wednesday.
Juliette Hansen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Emilee Patton, who scored three runs and stole four bases.
Ludlow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Dixie Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-6 to Scott.
14 Sydney Schumacher was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Salin Haskins, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Ludlow pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Dixie Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Ludlow's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Dixie Heights, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Ludlow continue to outrun the ball?
