Elite Prep Academy is 3-0 against Circle Christian since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Elite Prep Academy Eagles on the road again and play against the Circle Christian Centurions at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Elite Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 back in December of 2023.
Elite Prep Academy struggled with assists back in December of 2023 (Cornerstone Charter Academy had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Elite Prep Academy falling 54-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jahmani Salomon, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Deontae Givens-West was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Circle Christian posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-23 win over Orlando Science at home.
Circle Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Bell led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lucas Valdes, who scored 20 points.
Elite Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Circle Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Elite Prep Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.2 points per game. It's a different story for Circle Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 59.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Elite Prep Academy strolled past Circle Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 58-40. Does Elite Prep Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Circle Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
