Estacada came out on top against Gladstone on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Gladiators. Considering the Rangers have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Laney Briones made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Samantha Klein was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Izabella Allgeier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Estacada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Estacada pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gladstone, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Estacada hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Gladstone struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs.
