Carter Jaeger Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Sterling's Carter Jaeger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Jaeger made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We rated that as his best effort of the season, edging out his previous best set last Friday.
The win (which was Sterling's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Jaeger and Sterling will square off against Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Rossi Came Up Big in Weld Central's 61-14 Win
Marcello Rossi's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his third-straight game with 126+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Unfortunately for Arvada, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Rossi. When Rossi last faced the Bulldogs back in October of 2023, he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 66 receiving yards.

Jacob Arzberger Delivers Best Performance of Season
Jacob Arzberger produced his most outstanding game to date while leading The Academy to the win on Saturday. Arzberger rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Arzberger and The Academy will venture away from home to take on Weld Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will pit Arzberger up against the Rebels' star running back Marcello Rossi. Will the matchup be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

Jace Cornelius Makes It Two for Weld Central
The second Weld Central player making an appearance here is Jace Cornelius, and for good reason. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
On the year, Cornelius has thrown those 3 touchdowns while averaging 56.4 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to five.
