After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matches, The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a serious blow against De La Salle, falling 48-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clayton Valley Charter in their matchups with De La Salle: they've now lost seven in a row.
Mason Lovett threw for 107 yards on only nine passes. Tony Keck was his top target, picking up 107 receiving yards. On the ground, Myles Tugbenyoh rushed for 57 yards.
De La Salle can attribute much of their success to Toa Faavae, who threw for 108 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dominic Kelley was in the mix as well, providing De La Salle with two touchdowns.
Clayton Valley Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for De La Salle, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Clayton Valley Charter is on the road again on Friday and play against California at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (California is ranked 82nd, while Clayton Valley Charter is ranked 100th). As for De La Salle, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against James Logan at 7:00 p.m. James Logan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
