Compass Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 68-36 loss at the hands of Crane. Compass Academy has not had much luck with the Cranes recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Compass Academy saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Stewart scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sareyah Hinojoz, who scored five points.
Even though they lost, Compass Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Compass Academy dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.1 points per game. As for Crane, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Compass Academy will take on the Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crane, they will be playing at home against the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
