Fairfax is 9-0 against the Knights since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Fairfax focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, Fairfax came up short against the Bobcats and fell 64-54. Fairfax has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ajana Kenyatta, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Melanie Romero, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Metro Tech came into Friday's game having lost 14 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Sierra Linda with a 43-39 victory on Friday.
Fairfax has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Metro Tech, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.
Everything came up roses for Fairfax against the Knights in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 74-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfax since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
