Even though the Fauquier Falcons have not done well against the James Wood Colonels recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Fauquier took down James Wood 42-26. The victory was nothing new for Fauquier as they're now sitting on three straight.
James Wood's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklynn Medina and Josie Russell. Medina scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Russell scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Medina is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Nail, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fauquier is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for James Wood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Fauquier will head out on the road to square off against Millbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for James Wood, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hampshire at 7:30 p.m.
