Sturgeon has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the La Plata Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Sturgeon will be strutting in after a win while the Bulldogs will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Sturgeon didn't have too much trouble with the Wildcats at home as they won 41-27.
Meanwhile, La Plata's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-39 loss at the hands of Green City. While losing is never fun, La Plata can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Gophers are ranked 73rd).
Sturgeon's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for La Plata, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
