The Enterprise Hornets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 35-18 to Foothill. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Enterprise in their matchups with Foothill: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Enterprise still got an impressive performance from JJ Johnson, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 150 yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Hunter Marchione, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 165 yards and a touchdown. Marchione was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Dawson Mortimer was in the mix as well, providing Foothill with two touchdowns.
Enterprise's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Redwood and 6-3 Pleasant Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Foothill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Enterprise will be playing at home against Chico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chico presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Enterprise in California (Chico is ranked 127th, while Enterprise is ranked 385th). As for Foothill, they will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
