The T.C. Roberson Rams had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against Erwin by a score of 58-49. Given T.C. Roberson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Erwin is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead T.C. Roberson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob McGraw, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max McDowell, who scored 18 points along with seven steals.
T.C. Roberson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Erwin, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. T.C. Roberson will take on McDowell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. McDowell is on a three-game streak of home wins, T.C. Roberson a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Erwin, they will head out on the road to square off against Enka at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Enka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Tuesday.
