Decatur barely beat Federal Way the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Gators put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. The Golden Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Tyler Buol was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cervantes (CJ) Gatterson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Decatur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Federal Way only managed five hits.

Decatur has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-1-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Federal Way, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Coming up, Decatur will welcome Kent-Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Gators are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Federal Way, they will face off against Enumclaw at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
