The Shelbyville Rams struggled with assists on Wednesday (the Nokomis Redskins had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Shelbyville received a tough blow as they fell 59-42 to Nokomis. Shelbyville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shelbyville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kenzie Jones, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dru Clark, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Nokomis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Becca Hill, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Stolte, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Shelbyville's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-13. As for Nokomis, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Shelbyville will take on Dieterich at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Dieterich focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday. Nokomis won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sandoval at 7:15 p.m. on January 11th.
