The Pinecrest Patriots were the 68-52 winner over the Union Pines Vikings when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pinecrest took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union Pines.
Despite the loss, Pinecrest still got an impressive performance from Zanodiya Mcnair, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Danaje Mcneill was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Pinecrest has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Union Pines, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinecrest will take on Richmond at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Union Pines, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Lee County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
