Gilbert Christian has gone 8-2 against Benjamin Franklin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Knights will welcome the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Gilbert Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Gilbert Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against ALA - Ironwood on Thursday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Logan King was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. King was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Gilbert Christian got a massive performance out of Dane Coyle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Coyle has become a key player for the Knights: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sam Webb, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Gilbert Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin entered their tilt with Page on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Sand Devils. Eight seems to be a good number for the Chargers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Matthew Economou and Owen Fierstein did most of the damage at the plate: Economou went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Fierstein scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, Economou posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Talan Speir, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Gilbert Christian pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Benjamin Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gilbert Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Benjamin Franklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Gilbert Christian's way against Benjamin Franklin in their previous meeting back in March, as Gilbert Christian made off with a 23-0 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
