Williamsburg is 9-1 against Georgetown since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will host the G-Men at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Williamsburg has seven straight victories, Georgetown has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Georgetown's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Williamsburg hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Williamsburg's pitcher stepped up to hand Blanchester a 9-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for Williamsburg, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Alyssa Vearil's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylynn Anderkin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kaityln Pollitt was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Williamsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Georgetown lost 16-3 to Clermont Northeastern on Wednesday.
Georgetown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Inlow, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those hits marked the first that Inlow got this season.
Williamsburg's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Georgetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything went Williamsburg's way against Georgetown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Williamsburg made off with a 13-0 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the G-Men turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
