The Southwest Leadership Academy Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 70-59 victory over Mission Heights Prep. With that win, Southwest Leadership Academy brought their scoring average up to 53.8 points per game.
Leading Southwest Leadership Academy to victory were Ayden Gonzales and Serious Sykes. Gonzales dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 assists, and ten steals, while Sykes dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Sykes scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Raja Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Southwest Leadership Academy's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Mission Heights Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Leadership Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Academy with Community Partners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission Heights Prep and El Dorado will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. El Dorado is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.6 points per game.
