The Metuchen Bulldogs lost against the Spotswood Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Metuchen took a 71-54 bruising from Spotswood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Metuchen in their matchups with Spotswood: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matt Smith, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jason Woods, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Metuchen now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Spotswood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Metuchen will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Timothy Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Timothy Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three games. Spotswood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wardlaw Hartridge at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
