The Erie Red Devils lost against the Cherryvale Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Erie was dealt a 65-32 defeat at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Erie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Chargers are ranked 99th).
When it comes to explaining why Erie lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexandra Pasquarelli. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points.
Erie has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Cherryvale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Erie will play host again and welcome the Lions, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Friday. As for Cherryvale, they will head out on the road to face off against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
