After two games on the road, West Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Nikiski Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 victory over Eagle River.
Nikiski can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down Kenai Central 39-20. That 19 points margin sets a new team best for Nikiski this season.
Nikiski got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maggie Grenier out in front who scored nine points along with six steals. Grenier is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Burman, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
The victory got West Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Nikiski, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
