The Shoals Christian Flame will head out on the road to face off against the Addison Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Shoals Christian got themselves on the board against Waterloo, but Waterloo never followed suit. They breezed by the Cougars at home to the tune of 68-0. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Shoals Christian's seven-point performance the match before.
Meanwhile, Addison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Phillips 54-0 on the road.
Addison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jed Wilkins led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Braden Luker got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Shoals Christian to 5-4 and Addison to 7-2.
Shoals Christian took a serious blow against Addison when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 56-0. Can Shoals Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
