For Meadowbrook Academy, this counts as revenge for the 55-44 loss Aucilla Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Meadowbrook Academy found their leader in underclassman Gaige Daugherty, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daugherty has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Orion Grayer, who scored two points along with seven blocks and six rebounds.
Aucilla Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Bass and Benjamin Faglie. Bass scored 14 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Faglie scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Faglie has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Eli Conrad was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three blocks.
Meadowbrook Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Aucilla Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Meadowbrook Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Key at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Key is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Aucilla Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Redeemer Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Redeemer Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
