While Lancaster's win against Northumberland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils won by a run and slipped past the Indians 5-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Meanwhile, Westmoreland made easy work of Colonial Beach on Thursday and carried off a 12-2 victory.
Brandon Pickeral made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Pickeral was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Kaiden Fauntleroy was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Gage Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Westmoreland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colonial Beach only posted an OBP of .385.
Lancaster's record now sits at 13-4. As for Westmoreland, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 3-6.
Lancaster was able to grind out a solid victory over Westmoreland when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
