The West Shamokin Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Conemaugh Township Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, West Shamokin earned a 48-38 win over the Comets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Shamokin.
Meanwhile, Conemaugh Township stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Cambria Heights on the road to the tune of 66-37. Winning may never get old, but Conemaugh Township sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jon Updyke was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Matera, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
West Shamokin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Conemaugh Township, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.
Things could have been worse for West Shamokin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to the Indians in their previous meeting back in January. Can West Shamokin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
