Monterey extended their winning streak to 11 on Monday, bumping their season record up to 19-3-1 in the process. They put the hurt on the Hollister Haybalers with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Dores might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Ella Myers made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anaiyah Brown, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
