Baseball Recap: Treutlen Comes Up Short

Treutlen fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Telfair County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 9, 2024.

Peyton Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Acie Dickens, who went 1-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Even though they lost, Treutlen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Treutlen's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Telfair County, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 3-11 record.

While Treutlen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
